Food packaging: circularity becomes scalable

The topic of circularity in food packaging is entering a concrete phase of development, moving from pilot projects to scalable models.

Recently, the bonÀrea group announced the large-scale expansion of its packaging reuse system following significant results achieved during the pilot phase. According to Alimarket, the project has already reached an average return rate of 60% and allows trays to be reused for up to 50 cycles (online source).

These results confirm that reuse systems are no longer a future perspective, but a concrete and sustainable solution capable of combining operational efficiency, waste reduction, and economic benefits for the end consumer.

In this context, ATS Packaging is actively involved in developing solutions focused on reuse and the reduction of single-use packaging, contributing to the evolution of the sector toward increasingly structured and sustainable circular economy models.
